John Frazee Jan. 9, 1674/75 Rahway Cemetery, Union County, NJ Married: Sarah Oliver Sarah born before 1693 Rahway Cemetery's oldest legible grave (some of the gravestones are unreadable) belongs to John Frazee, who died in 1724. His remains were buried 18 years before the First Presbyterian Church was founded, which took control of the cemetery in 1902. It is believed that the land was originally the Frazee family burial ground before becoming the final resting place for so many different people and their kin.

Saturday’s News Pallidium: For 3 days and nights Fred Frazee, an 84 year old Bainbridge man, demented and enfeebled, lay in a swoon, without food or drink, in a wheatfield near his home. During that time the sun’s rays had beat with merciless strength upon the field, torrents of rain had fallen and chilling winds had swept over the place. The old man was found by Deputy Sheriff DeTamble, barely alive, benumbed & unable to tell anything of his terrible experience of the three days.

James Frazee, aged 84, died Monday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Henry Burg, in Bainbridge township. Mr. Frazee left the house on Tuesday of last week and lay outdoors in a field until Thursday, where the relatives and neighbors found him unconscious after a search of two days. He died of apoplexy. Mr. Frazee had been a resident of this county for many years. Arthur Frazee of this village and Mrs. C.L. Jennings of Hartford township are grandchildren of the deceased. The funeral was held Wednesday morning.

Bainbridge lost another well known farm resident Monday evening when Henry Burg died at the age of 77 at his home on Wildwood Lane Rd, east of Benton Harbor. Death after a two week’s illness was ascribed to infirmities of age. The funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon at the home and at 1 pm at the Evangelical Church in Bainbridge, the Rev. Stanley Kirn, the pastor officiating. Besides the widow, there survive, these daughters and a son, Mrs. Edna Tillstrom, Louis Berg, Mrs. Bessie Danneffel of Benton Harbor, and Mrs. Minnie Long, of Blaney, Mich. Deceased was born in Indiana and came to Michigan at the age of 11. He had been a resident of Bainbridge community since that time.

Bangor – May 20 – George Frazee, 87, of 524 Morrison St, died at 6:55 pm, Monday, at the Berrien County hospital, Berrien Center, where he had been a patient for several months. He was born in Bainbridge April 16, 1871. On Oct. 7, 1897 in St. Joseph, he was married to Miss Nancy Hughes. He was a farmer. Surviving besides his widow are four sons, Charles and Alonzo of Benton Harbor, Patrick of Watervliet, and George Jr. of Grand Rapids. Also surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Lila Fritz of Benton Harbor, Mrs. Katherine Mulder and Mrs. Sophia Dornbos of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Caroline Wintzel and Mrs. Alice Mastber of Detroit, Mrs. Beulah Wolske of Berrien Springs, and Mrs. Nellie Simons of Gary, Ind, and 11 grandchildren. The services will be held Thursday at 2 pm in the Kerlikowske Chapel, St. Joseph. Burial will be in Hagar township cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Lloyd Zoschke of Eau Claire, pastor of Community Church. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Funeral services were conducted from the Hutchins Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2:00 for Fred Frazee, 66, 449 Myrtle Avenue, who died Friday morning at his home. He had been in ill health for a number of years.
Mr. Frazee was born in Hartford township on March 4, 1892, the son of Frederick and Emma Frazee. Surviving are the wife, Luttie, four daughters, Mrs. Donald Baldwin, Detroit, Mrs. Joe Dombroski, Lansing, Mrs. Richard Hiler, Watervliet, Mrs. Mary Lou Lamb, Fort Collins, Colorado; twelve grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. George Stuck and Mrs. Harold Selters, Watervliet; Mrs. George Vargo, Benton Harbor; two brothers, Floyd, Watervliet; Bert, Kalamazoo. Services were conducted by the Rev. Peter F. Kobe, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, Watervliet. Interment was in Watervliet cemetery. Casket bearers were: Ryno Paul, Howard Mundt, Chris Krieger, Ed Youdell, Allen Woodruff and Lester Hiler.

He was employed by the Watervliet Paper Co. for 32 years and for the last 12 years worked for Western’s Nursery, Watervliet. Survivors include his widow, the former Vera Struble, whim he married April 7, 1919 in St. Joseph, a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy) O’Riley of Watervliet; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. George (Verna) Stuck and Mrs. Harold (Grace) Selters of Watervliet. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Hutchins funeral home, Watervliet. The Rev. Harvey R. Lord, pastor of the Plymouth Congregational church, will officiate.
